New Festival Director for IWDK: Randi Vestergaard

By Nicolai Fast Sørensen

We have some very important news to share. Randi Vestergaard has been appointed managing Festival Director for IWDK. With the rest of the IWDK team, her first task will be to oversee the development of the IWDK Virtual Experience and assure a wide and immersive roaster of partners and speakers. We asked Randi about her ambitions for IWDK.

“At this point and with the corona situation in mind, we felt that it was necessary to make the decision that IWDK2021 will be fully virtual. Therefore, we’ve had to rethink this year’s festival”, Randi begins. “Our ambition is  to create an insightful online experience and showcase Denmark as a digital frontrunner nationally as well as internationally.”

“With the addition of the Digital Roundtable on the day of the opening of IWDK on May 4th, we are taking the first steps to be the meeting grounds, where we create the people’s meeting for digitalization. We wish to create a discussion forum, where politicians, opinion makers and businesses meet to discuss our common digital future”

“Our role as a festival is to bridge the gaps between businesses, organizations, and the people and represent all of the festival’s stakeholders. I want IWDK to be the place where we present state of the art summits, well-crafted research, and ideas, discuss our future, and maintain the festival’s DNA of putting people first in the digital age. I look forward to seeing everyone online in May.”

A close collaborator of the IWDK-family

With several years of experience working with communication and events at it-forum, Randi has been a close collaborator since the festival’s early days in 2014, planning local events for Business Region Aarhus and curating events and workshops at Dokk1.

Furthermore, Randi was involved in the planning of Local Rock Stars and was the Head of Communications at IoT Week in 2019. So when it comes to shaping the tech-debate, we are fortunate to have her on board and welcome her to the IWDK-family.
